Since 2006, Baldasso Cortese collaborated with the Coles renewal team, fast becoming their preferred architects in the Victorian market. In general, our briefs include rebranding of the existing supermarkets through the installation of new Fresh Produce and Deli areas. We calibrate our approach based on a targeted design developed by Coles.

Centred around a revolutionary ‘hawker stand/market’ concept a solution was achieved by removing the ceilings, exposing the structure and incorporating materials with a raw edge.

Our involvement commenced at the pre-approval stage, providing technical advice on defining the capital works program for the forthcoming financial year.

Our team’s exhaustive knowledge and expertise in supermarket design, along with the complex project management issues involved in coordinating an upgrade program, saw the renewal through to successful completion. We executed the construction and refurbishment of each supermarket with minimal disruption to daily operations, giving the client’s staff confidence in our capacity to manage the completion of building works without impacting the business and workplace environment.
