TRADITIONAL LAND OWNERS
Historically, the lands around Casey were inhabited by the Bunurong/Boonwurrung Peoples. Today, Aboriginal people from all over Australia live in the City of Casey. The Bunurong/Boonwurrung People represent a number of Clans and/or Family groups.
Our client required that this development offer a high quality, mixed-use site that responded to both the local context and the wider Berwick Town Centre urban framework. The design needed to generate a unique contemporary establishment to benchmark new commercial outcomes and the creation of sophisticated public spaces accompanied by financially supportive residential apartments.
There has been positive, local market feedback to the scheme, demonstrated by the rapid sale of all residential apartments within a 48-hour sales window. Of equally high demand has been the retail and office spaces, addressing a significant under-supply in the market.
The combination of these factors, strongly influenced by the architectural input, have enabled the client to finally realise their initial vision for the site, which started in 2004.
