Project Completed by Baade Harbour Geelong (BHA)

BHA Geelong was engaged by the CFA to design a highly functional and economical building for the delivery of emergency services to the Mildura Region, with a strong focus on community education and a functional design that acknowledged the site within a residential area.

As a full time staffed station, the facility includes a five bay motor room for fire-fighting appliances, along with accommodation, admin areas, training, gym, kitchen, dayroom, and workshops for the day-to-day upkeep. As part of the site, an additional District Support Services building was also constructed to house further administration and communication infrastructure for Divisional operations and emergency situations.

The build was designed to be low maintenance, robust and durable for the daily rigours of a fire station, yet incorporated the use of selected materials and colours to create a building that was visually appealing within its local context, its front entry emphasised so as to high light the main access point for any community members or visitors.
