Project Completed by Baade Harbour Geelong (BHA)
New Day Hospital includes 2 Theatres, 12 Renal Dialysis / Chemotherapy Chairs, 10 Consulting Rooms, Medical Imaging, and Primary Injury Clinic.
This project was designed for Western District Health. The brief was to design an integrated acute day facility that included 2 theatres and 12 recovery cubicles for day procedures, medical imaging unit, consulting and treatment rooms, a primary injury clinic and 12 renal dialysis/chemotherapy chairs.
In addition, the existing two storey heritage building was refurbished to accommodate administration and educational resources.
The design outcome was a new modern and dynamic building that was linked via a glazed corridor to the newly refurbished heritage building. It was also designed along the east-west contour line enabling the building to maximise solar efficiency and provide views from the renal dialysis/chemotherapy chairs over the valley to the north.
